Jim Bunch is a long-time impact investor who Is dedicated to finding and supporting scalable business models that have positive social and environmental benefits. He is Managing Director of the Mission Colorado Fund, which invests in best-in-class impact funds and supports those fund managers in building pipeline and portfolio companies in Colorado. The three areas he’s most passionate about are education, climate/environment and closing the wealth inequality gap.
Prior to joining Gary, Jim was a co-founder of an ESG advisory firm. Before that, he spent over 15 years building and managing private market impact portfolios for institutions and high net worth individuals at Goldman Sachs/Imprint, New Island Capital and Omidyar Network. All of that is an effort to offset the carbon footprint he created by financing oil and gas in New York, London and Moscow early in his career.
Born and raised in Denver, Jim moved back to Colorado in 2023 after spending nearly 25 years in the San Francisco Bay Area. You can usually find him on the weekends spending time with his two boys and wife, ideally hiking, skiing or otherwise playing in the mountains. When he’s in the city, he can often be found on a basketball court or golf course.
