GARY COMMUNITY VENTURES APPOINTS SANTHOSH RAMDOSS AS CHIEF INVESTMENT OFFICER

As CIO Santhosh will continue to foster deep relationships with influential fund managers and companies in order to strengthen Gary’s broader endowment and deliver greater impact for Colorado’s kids and families.

Gary Community Ventures, a Denver-based philanthropic organization focused on reshaping the arc of opportunity for Colorado’s children and families, announced that it is elevating Santhosh Ramdoss to the role of Chief Investment Officer (CIO). As CIO, Santhosh will oversee the organization’s $400 million in endowment assets and help Gary deploy a larger pool of its financial assets directly in service of its mission as envisioned by its founders, Sam and Nancy Gary.

“Santhosh’s experience in financial and impact investing, combined with his passion for leveraging capital for social good, has provided Gary an incredible opportunity to leverage the most innovative solutions designed to increase opportunity for Colorado’s kids and families,” said Mike Johnston, president and CEO of Gary Community Ventures. “His entrepreneurial spirit and commitment to equity ensures that every dollar we spend goes toward the long-term community impact that Sam always envisioned.”

Santhosh joined Gary in July of 2020 as Vice President of Impact Investing and has built a strong in-house investment team that has expanded the organization’s mission investment portfolio. Under his leadership, Gary has continued its legacy as a pioneering place-based impact investor, partnering with leading fund managers and companies, as well as incubating innovative capital vehicles like the Dearfield Fund for Black Wealth.

“Our community is very fortunate to have Santhosh assume this new role,” said Jim Kelley, at-large director of the Gary Community Ventures Board of Directors and managing director and co-founder, Vestar Capital Partners. “Santhosh is an instinctively good investor and manager. And, through lived experience and superb training, he brings a keen understanding of social entrepreneurs and how to catalyze their best ideas for the good of the community.”

As CIO Santhosh will continue to foster deep relationships with influential fund managers and companies in order to strengthen Gary’s broader endowment and deliver greater impact for Colorado’s kids and families.
