Remembering Ron Williams
With the passing of Ron Williams, the city of Denver has lost a legend. Ron was a partner, a friend, and an advocate and he will be greatly missed.
For more than three decades he stood beside our founder, Sam Gary, and together they built Gary-Williams into one of Colorado’s most successful independent energy companies. But the business was never the true measure of Ron. His character was: his loyalty, his humility, and his deep and abiding love for this city.
Like Sam, Ron believed that those who are fortunate carry a responsibility to lift others, and he lived that belief fully, from his leadership of Children’s Hospital Colorado to the countless quieter ways he gave back.
We extend our deepest sympathy to Ron’s family. We grieve alongside them, and we give thanks for a life that left Denver more generous, more ambitious, and more humane than he found it. Ron Williams helped shape who we are, and we will carry his example forward.
With gratitude,
