As the private foundation of Gary Community Ventures, Gary Philanthropy provides grants to nonprofit organizations and new venture pilots designed to create long-lasting sustainable change.
Our commitment to delivering the most impact by 2035 requires us to be strategic in our grantmaking as we focus on opportunities that will result in the greatest impact for children and families in our four counties while simultaneously looking for new ventures to drive broad systems change statewide.Learn more about our grantmaking and Venture Lab.
Gary Ventures
Through years of experience, Sam & Nancy Gary learned that philanthropy alone, would never be enough to achieve long-lasting sustainable impact in the community. Part of Sam Gary’s vision was to ensure that all our assets, whether philanthropic, below-market, or market-rate, ultimately will be managed in pursuit of our mission and values. To achieve this, we use Gary Ventures to make a handful of creative impact investments that can improve the lives of Colorado’s children, while potentially yielding a financial return that can be used toward creating deeper positive impact in our community.
The goal of our Impact Investment portfolio is to use our balance sheet to deliver clear and measurable outcomes in School Readiness, Youth Success, and Family Economic Mobility.
Gary Advocacy
In order to create scalable, long-term solutions designed to impact generations of kids and families, sometimes the rules of the game simply need to change. Gary Advocacy is uniquely positioned to invest in a thriving policy ecosystem and ongoing improvement of public systems in order to create transformational policies at the state and local level.
