Algernon Felice Jr has been recognized nationally and regionally as an award-winning director, having won a Chicago/Midwest Emmy® for his writing, producing and directing, and won multiple Wisconsin Broadcasters Association awards for his work in brand development and television production. He has also been featured on CNN and the Washington Post for his filmmaking and cultural storytelling.
Algernon began his career producing content in partnership with Fortune 500 clientele, including Nike, Adidas, New Balance, Brooks, Saucony and Asics, during which time he filmed and produced in London, Germany, New York, Los Angeles, Boston, Chicago and covered parts of the 2012 and 2016 Olympics. He has also collaborated with a historic sports franchise for a recurring talk-show spot, and continues to consult as a writer, producer and communications strategist on numerous political campaigns. In addition to his work as a producer, Algernon has conducted comprehensive qualitative research that explores systems of sociocultural and multicultural communication strategies, has worked with families in diverse, underserved communities to help inform legislation, and he briefly served as a contributing writer for a nationwide arts and culture magazine.
Algernon currently directs short films and documentaries at Gary Community Ventures that explore the experiences of Colorado communities through a lens of multiculturalism, equity, and inclusivity. Algernon recently received his Master’s from Johns Hopkins University, is a Zen Buddhist practitioner, cinema-enthusiast, proud husband, and son.
