Cathy Trom is a highly experienced accounting professional with more than two decades of experience working in corporate, nonprofit, and public accounting. She is a Certified Public Accountant and a member of the American Institute of CPAs with extensive expertise in financial reporting. Currently, Cathy serves as the Controller, Corporate at Gary Community Ventures where she oversees daily accounting operations and guides strategic financial decisions for several entities within Gary.
Cathy’s career began in public accounting, where she gained valuable experience working with clients in various industries, including manufacturing, construction and health care. However, she soon discovered that her true passion lay in the nonprofit sector. Her work at Gary Community Ventures has allowed her to leverage her expertise in multiple sectors to help the organization achieve its mission of increasing opportunities for Colorado children and families by bringing together business, policy, and philanthropy.
Apart from her professional endeavors, Cathy is an outdoor enthusiast who enjoys biking, hiking, skiing, and other activities that give her a reason to get outside. She also spends time in Minnesota with family, where she enjoys boating, water skiing, and fishing. Cathy currently resides with her husband in Denver, Colorado.
