Brian Firooz | Manager, Family Economic Mobility

Brian Firooz is a dynamic and versatile leader who brings passion, creativity, and joy to his work. As the Family Economic Mobility Manager in Philanthropy at Gary Community Ventures, Brian is focused on public benefits, debt management, and individual savings & assets. He has also led strategy and adoption of equitable practices within the Philanthropy team, increasing the organization’s engagement and giving to BIPOC lead organizations. Brian was honored to receive the Gary Value Award just 6 months after joining the team.

Prior to joining Gary, Brian has been in mission-driven work and led programs, projects, and teams in education, nonprofits, startups, and tech, making him a well-rounded and experienced leader. Brian is talented in driving initiatives and teams to generate impact, expand programs and partnerships, and create solid and equitable cultures. He’s certified in agile project management and Workplace Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion and has leadership, facilitation, and Human Resources training.

Hailing from the beautiful state of Colorado, Brian now resides in Denver with his husband. Outside work, you can find him cooking delicacies, hiking or SUPing in the stunning Colorado mountains, or plucking at his guitar. He’s a podcast aficionado and a self-proclaimed music-playlist-guru.
