Will C. Holden | Director, Communications & Storytelling

Will C. Holden is a writer, producer and storyteller with deep experience in the marketing and communications sectors. He strongly believes partnering with communities to create compelling, scalable storytelling can change behaviors, widen cultural perspectives and deepen empathy in meaningful, measurable ways.

Serving as Gary’s Communications & Storytelling Director, Will manages a content generation, distribution and community engagement practice designed to advance the organization’s mission and increase the capacity of Coloradans to share their own impactful stories. That work has included the storytelling campaign for Proposition 123, the first successful ballot measure in U.S. history to create a statewide solution to the affordable housing crisis; the Better Beginnings podcast, which was part of a successful effort to pass legislation that established Colorado’s Department of Early Childhood; and CO.created, a community storytelling platform featuring visual, written, short film and podcast content that’s successfully driving narrative and systems change work in collaboration with Gary’s partners.

Prior to his work at Gary, Will worked as a newspaper reporter, news anchor, network TV producer, marketing director and digital content manager. During this time, he was awarded by the Emmys, Associated Press and Society of Professional Journalists for his writing, producing and reporting. He has also collaborated with Fortune 100 companies, nonprofits, government agencies, tech startups, healthcare organizations, energy providers, heavy machinery suppliers and sports franchises on digital content campaigns that were awarded by The Tellys, the Public Relations Society of America and AMA Colorado. He’s a father, husband, current board member with the Colorado Humanities Council, Boulder Museum of Contemporary Art and Truce Studios, mayor-appointed member of the Denver Commission on Cultural Affairs, and an adjunct faculty member at the University of Colorado-Boulder, where he teaches a course on digital storytelling.
